Hey, you. Please VOTE (and do other stuff too)

Hey, you. Please VOTE (if you haven't already) Yeah, this is about voting...of course it is NOTE: please forgive me, as I've been posting a variety of places and not sending these newsletters out as I could/should be. In fact, it's possible the last time you saw a newsletter from me was Election Day two years ago. Sheesh. Let's talk about that another time? And if you'd like to see some more of my more-recent sporadic writing, you can follow me on player.gg. But I will be back here soon, and...

Yellow text on a plain back background. It reads: "VOTE."

A Vote is a Chance to Make Change Yeah, this is about voting...of course it is I have a habit of putting together lengthy posts to try to make short points. And trust me, I'm still very much doing that...I'm working on one now. :) But because it's already getting close to polls closing in some states, let me just start over and be brief (or at least, my definition of it). please. I can ask nicely, sure I started Intelligame because I really, really, REALLY love games. But I also knew that I...

A Break and a Contest A bit of an announcement, then a chance to win a Playdate handheld! On Taking a Small Break from Streaming I think part of the reason that I was afraid to take a break from streaming was because it’d make me want more time off. Then I took that break two weeks ago…and now I’m going to be taking a month off. 😅 This week’s streams will be the last (scheduled) Intelligame streams for August. But it’s for good reason. Or two good reasons, rather! This edition of the...

Coming back, and this one isn't about games. Hey, Intelligamers. I feel like this is supposed to be a space to chat about what's happened recently in Intelligame. And for as much as I'd like to, I just can't start this one out like that. This email's about Palestine. Take any care you may need. I haven't sent out an email since October 6th, even though I've tried writing this at least 10 times. To just "write a newsletter" and not somehow mention so much of what's happened since October 7th:...

A photo of Josh, a Black man, from the shoulders up. He has short, salt-and-pepper hair, a beard of a similar composition, and is wearing a black button-front shirt. Around him is the overlay frame for Game Devs of Color Expo.

Taking a breath, coming back to Recap. Intelligamers - Somehow, it's already October. It feels cliche, especially as I get older, to talk about how fast time is flying by. But somehow it is, a combination of breakneck-paced world events and internet memes and social media and... wait. Maybe it's worth taking a second to breathe. Literally, if you're reading this, just stop for a minute. Breathe deeply. If you're in a place where you can, close your eyes. Maybe even set a timer for 1 minute,...

Intelliplay: Final Fantasy VI Begins Today Streams on M, T, and Th at 9a PDT at twitch.tv/intelligame Intelligamers - We're starting the Super Nintendo classic Final Fantasy VI this week on the IG stream. This is many people's favorite Final Fantasy, their first Final Fantasy; maybe you played it as Final Fantasy III here in the US? I can't tell you much about it because this is my first time playing it! But I know it has a twist that blew people's minds when it originally released, and many...
